Story

美měi玲líng在zài跑pǎo。她tā要yào快kuài。今jīn天tiān的de最zuì后hòu一yí个gè车chē马mǎ上shàng就jiù要yào走zǒu了liǎo。她tā不bù能néng等děng。

Meiling is running. She wants to be quick. Today's last vehicle is about to leave. She cannot wait.

她tā跑pǎo到dào车chē站zhàn。车chē还hái没méi有yǒu来lái。她tā还hái有yǒu一yì些xiē时shí间jiān。美měi玲líng笑xiào了liǎo。她tā不bú用yòng害hài怕pà。

男nán人rén笑xiào了liǎo。他tā说shuō："我wǒ也yě是shì。我wǒ们men要yào等děng一yí样yàng的de车chē。"美měi玲líng也yě笑xiào了liǎo。

The man smiles. He says: "Me too. We are waiting for the same vehicle." Meiling smiles too.

美měi玲líng问wèn他tā："你nǐ叫jiào什shén么me名míng字zì？"男nán人rén说shuō："我wǒ叫jiào大dà伟wěi。你nǐ呢ne？"

Meiling asks him: "What is your name?" The man says: "My name is Dawei. And you?"

"我wǒ叫jiào美měi玲líng，"她tā说shuō，"你nǐ在zài哪nǎ里lǐ工gōng作zuò？"

"My name is Meiling," she says, "where do you work?"

大dà伟wěi告gào诉sù她tā，他tā在zài一yí个gè大dà的de地dì方fāng工gōng作zuò。他tā一yì直zhí很hěn忙máng。今jīn天tiān他tā也yě跑pǎo了liǎo。他tā不bù想xiǎng没méi有yǒu车chē回huí家jiā。

Dawei tells her that he works at a big place. He is always very busy. Today he also ran. He did not want to be without a vehicle home.

美měi玲líng明míng白bái他tā。她tā说shuō："今jīn天tiān我wǒ也yě是shì。如rú果guǒ没méi有yǒu这zhè个ge车chē，我wǒ不bù知zhī道dào怎zěn么me回huí家jiā。"

Meiling understands him. She says: "Today, me too. If there were no vehicle, I would not know how to get home."

他tā们men都dōu笑xiào了liǎo。他tā们men一yì起qǐ等děng。然rán后hòu，车chē来lái了liǎo。

They both laugh. They wait together. Then, the vehicle comes.

大dà伟wěi说shuō："你nǐ先xiān上shàng。"美měi玲líng说shuō："谢xiè谢xiè。"

Dawei says: "You first." Meiling says: "Thank you."

他tā们men一yì起qǐ上shàng了liǎo车chē。美měi玲líng坐zuò在zài一yí个gè好hǎo地dì方fāng。如rú果guǒ她tā刚gāng才cái不bù跑pǎo，她tā不bù能néng上shàng这zhè个ge车chē。但dàn是shì她tā也yě认rèn识shi了liǎo一yí个gè新xīn的de朋péng友yǒu。今jīn天tiān是shì好hǎo的de一yì天tiān。

They get on the vehicle together. Meiling sits in a good spot. If she had not run just now, she could not have got on this vehicle. But she also met a new friend. Today is a good day.
