Everything on the Kilo Lingo is published as a self-directed learning resource. It is not formal language tuition and it is not a substitute for working with a qualified teacher or for sitting an accredited language certification (DELE, DELF, HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).

The phrase pages, grammar guides, conjugation tables, character pages, and pronunciation guides reflect typical contemporary usage. Languages vary by region, register, and context; the editorial notes on each page flag where this matters, but no phrase list can capture every situation.

Translations and accuracy

Translations are provided in good faith. Native speakers and qualified teachers may phrase the same idea differently and both can be correct. If you spot an error, please email hello@example.com and we will look at it.

Pronunciation guides

Pronunciation guides on this site are written for English-speaking adult learners. They are anglicised approximations where the underlying sound system maps reasonably well to English, and IPA where the sound system does not. They are an aid, not a replacement for listening to native speakers.

Affiliate links

Some links on the Site go to language courses, tutoring marketplaces, app subscriptions, and books. Several of those are affiliate links: if you click and sign up or purchase, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links help fund the editorial content. They do not influence what we cover or what we say. We do not accept paid placements.

Advertising

The Site shows advertisements served by Google AdSense and its partner networks. Advertisements are clearly distinguished from editorial content and their presence does not constitute endorsement. We do not control which ads are served on any given page; that decision is Google's.
