Con is one of the most common Spanish prepositions, covering accompaniment ("with someone"), instrument ("with a knife"), and manner ("with calm"). It does not contract with the following article the way Italian or Portuguese do: con el, con la, con los, con las stay as two words.

When con precedes , ti, or it fuses into the special pronoun forms conmigo, contigo, consigo. Worth memorising as a unit: "¿Vienes conmigo?" - "Are you coming with me?"
