Con is one of the most common Spanish prepositions, covering accompaniment ("with someone"), instrument ("with a knife"), and manner ("with calm"). It does not contract with the following article the way Italian or Portuguese do: con el, con la, con los, con las stay as two words.
When con precedes mí, ti, or sí it fuses into the special pronoun forms conmigo, contigo, consigo. Worth memorising as a unit: "¿Vienes conmigo?" - "Are you coming with me?"
